Trade Rifle circa 1800-1820 Click on image for larger view
Due to requests for a rifle for the shooter who doesn't want a cheap Italian import but can't afford a true custom gun I have come up with the gun shown below. It is a very basic, no frills rifle made using quality parts and a pre-shaped stock to cut time and cost. This gun is styled after the Indian Trade Rifles of the early 19th century that were coming out of the Lancaster, PA. area. The rifle is finished with a slightly aged finish unless otherwise requested. All steel parts are fire blued. Features include: Brass hardware (buttplate, toeplate, trigger guard, sideplate and thimbles) *Add $45 for nosecap * Add $35 for a toeplate* Siler lock (flint or percussion) (convertible with 2 locks for $150 extra) Curly maple stock (fancy wood and walnut available at extra cost) Left or right hand styling Length of pull up to 14 3/4" (sized to fit you) Barrels are straight 7/8" by 36" long in your choice of .45 or .50 caliber or 15/16" by 36" long in .54 caliber.
Price $2250 or Assembled in the white Price $1895 You polish the brass, sand, stain and finish the wood and blue or brown the steel parts. Call or email me to discuss building one for you. Below are pictures of two of the Trade Rifles Click on image for larger view
*Brass parts may vary slightly due to availability.
