This is a Kibler Woods Runner kit that was assembled by the current owner. This rifle is lightly used but in very good
condition.
This rifle is stocked in a piece of
nice curly maple that that is stained to a nice dark brown with a
hand-rubbed oil finish. There are two chips in the wood and are shown in the
photos. I think they just add to the character of the rifle. The patch box lid
also does not have a brass plate on the rear. The brass parts have a nice
natural patina now. The lock is a Chamber's round face Virginia style and was
bright but is turning grey from use. The barrel a swamped
40" in
.54 caliber with a browned finish. The bore is in excellent condition. There is a touch hole liner.
The gun comes with a flash guard and hammer stall (frizzen cover) for use at
re-enactments.
Overall it is in very good condition. Inlets are tight and well done and it
holds nicely.
Weight is 7 lbs. 2 oz. Pull is 13 ½".
